The Center for the Development of Photography announces the 27th national competition for the best photographs in the media — Press Photo Serbia. Photographers may submit works to the competition, which represents the oldest and most prestigious professional award in the country, featuring photographs that defined the period between November 2024 and November 2025.

The competition is open to all media photographers who are citizens of the Republic of Serbia, for works taken in Serbia or abroad, as well as to foreign citizens whose photographs were taken on the territory of Serbia.

Photographs submitted to the competition must have been taken between 10 November 2024 and 10 November 2025.

Participation in the competition is free of charge. Works may be submitted in several categories, covering key areas such as: News, Life, Portrait, Sport and Art. The rules and regulations, which include the full list of categories and technical requirements, as well as the application forms, are available at the bottom of the page.

The deadline for submitting applications is 24 November 2025 by 23:59.

The winners will be selected by a professional jury composed of local and international experts.

About the competition

Press Photo Serbia is the most important national award in the field of media photography, established in 1999. The competition focuses on an authorial approach, respect for ethics, and a credible representation of social changes and phenomena in Serbia and the world through the lenses of local authors. Its aim is to preserve impartiality, responsibility in the media, and the protection of copyright.

Press Photo Serbia offers photographers a platform to present, through their work, personal perspectives on social changes and phenomena in Serbia. The awarded and commended works, including the main prize, will be presented at the traditional exhibition, which has been held since 2013 as part of the Vizualizator International Photography Festival. This year’s 13th edition of the festival will take place from 18 November to 25 December in Belgrade, Pančevo and Sombor under the slogan “Be Present.”
