The nineteenth edition of In Pursuit of Light presents an annual overview of the most significant achievements in contemporary Serbian photography — a kind of map of what resonated most strongly with juries, audiences, and the photographic community over the past year. The exhibition, created by Photo Association of Serbia, brings together authors whose works have been awarded in national and international competitions, affirming not only individual excellence but also the vitality of photographic creativity in Serbia.

This selection functions as a collective portrait of a photographic scene — its poetics, sensibilities, themes, and inner rhythms. Across the works on display, a wide range of approaches emerges: from documentary, street, and life photography, to poetic studies of the everyday, and carefully constructed compositions that rely on light, shadow, space, and movement. Many works capture the immediacy of life in its purest form: unexpected gestures, fleeting emotions, human relationships, the vibration of spaces, and quiet symbols of daily existence.

In Pursuit of Light #19 stands as an annual selection of outstanding photographs and, at the same time, as a testament to the joint efforts of the Photo Association of Serbia and the broader photographic community, whose dedication ensures that photography in Serbia remains a living medium — one capable of documenting, critically reflecting upon, and poetically interpreting the world around us.
